René Barbier is a pretty big producer in Penedes (Barcelona) region, owned by the huge corporation Freixenet. This inexpensive Mediterranean White is a wine produced using the traditional blend of the base wines for cava, composed of the indigenous varieties Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. It shows a high sugar level (10 g/L) that gives it a sweet-toothed character. It matches well with salads and fish.
