This Pinyolet Garnacha brings to mind some New World wines. It offers a ripe fruit bomb of black and red berries, with a powerful structure and pretty good acidity. It is made by Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico, a company founded on 2002 by Alberto Orte and Patrick Mata, two Spanish entrepreneurs who currently produce wines in 18 different appellations. Garnacha grapes for Pinyolet were planted in the municipality of Capçanes in 1962 and are organically farmed. The wine matures 6 months in stainless steel tanks with its lees.

Vintage tasted: 2010 (September 2012)
